Summary:

Annie Pederson’s happily ever after is finally within sight . . . If she can stay alive long enough to grasp it. Law enforcement officer Annie Pederson’s life has been rocked by tragedy, but things finally seem to be heading in the right direction. Her relationship with the love of her life—who’s also the biological father of her precious daughter—has never been better, and it looks like an engagement ring is in Annie’s future. She’s also slowly building back trust with her sister, Sarah, after a separation that lasted for decades.

When a man escapes law enforcement custody and Sarah’s safety is suddenly in question, Annie’s personal and professional lives once again merge. Meanwhile, her investigation of hikers who have gone missing in the remote woods of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula puts her in the crosshairs of a deadly game. Now, Annie is the one being hunted.

When she discovers the terrible truth about the men who are stalking her, she realizes that she’s in for the fight of her life if she’s going to redeem the sister she once lost, build the family she dreams of, and keep all those she loves safe. Return to the beloved town of Rock Harbor in the final installment of the Annie Pederson trilogy by bestselling suspense author Colleen Coble.

I really did enjoy this book and I need to applaud Colleen Coble by showing that an author can write a fantastic book without sex scenes and swearing!!! It was refreshing to not have to wonder if any of these things would appear to ruin the reading experience!! She is one of the few authors who can do this... let's hope that others can do the same!!

I really was so excited to hear that she wrote another book because I read Freedom's Light by her and really loved it, that I didn't know that it was the last book in the trilogy. Oops! It turned out great because I read the synopsis of the other two books, so I knew what was going on.

This won't be a long review because many of you have read the first two books and I won't spoil anything for you or for those who want to read the trilogy. I felt that it was slow in the beginning, but it really picked up half way through. Sarah's story is really what kept me reading because it was extremely exciting and I needed to know how it ended. This story is full of scripture, compassion, love, family and friends and the bonds between them. This is a wonderful story of survival! It will keep you interested and wanting you to keep turning the pages to get quickly to the exciting end! You won't be disappointed!

Only two things bothered me. Jon is Annie's boyfriend and a doctor. How he kept showing up in the investigations was beyond me. I kept thinking how was he talking care of his patients? The other thing is that there's a dog named Scout, only everyone called him" the dog." I found myself keep saying" he has a name!"

Otherwise, it was a truly enjoyable and faith filled story! I very highly recommend this wonderful book and look forward to reading more by Colleen Coble! Well written and well done!! 4.75 Stars from me.

Enjoy and Happy Reading

Break of Day is the final book in the Annie Pederson series and boy did the author end it with a bang! I enjoyed this series very much and I loved how it all came together in the end. I had no idea who the bad guy was and I was totally surprised. I was hanging on the edge of my seat throughout the novel and I stayed up late to finish it. I truly recommend it to all romantic suspense lovers who love happily ever afters and a message of hope.

If you're looking for a book that will make your heart race and your mind rush to find the answers to the mystery, this final book in the Annie Pedersen trilogy is just what you're looking for!

Annie's life has been a daily struggle since the sudden deaths of her husband and her parents in a boating accident. She's been struggling to stay afloat as a law enforcement officer and raise her young daughter without a father, but now that her daughter's biological father is back in Annie's (and Kylie's) life, things are looking up. She's finally feeling like happiness might be in her grasp and she might just get a second chance at love. Until she becomes the hunted. Someone wants her dead, and Annie is about to become the hunted instead of the hunter.

I think this was my favourite of the series. Each page was jam-packed with excitement and the plot wasn't something I've seen in a novel before. I still love Jon's character and his unrelenting love for Annie and their daughter, and he just keeps getting better as a hero. Annie's commitment to making the world a better place for her family while still taking time to enjoy her life is good to see. The side characters are also fantastic, and I finally even started to like Annie's sister by the end of the story.

If you enjoy fast-paced romantic suspense, you won't want to miss this series.

This book is the last book in the Annie Pederson trilogy. I have to admit, I didn’t realize this when I began this book, so it took me a minute to feel “caught up” with the characters. Nevertheless, I enjoyed this book very much and found the story really drew me in. The characters were interesting and the plot had enough suspense and mystery to keep me invested throughout. I think I may need to read the two earlier books in the series now to make it complete! I liked the Annie Pederson character, she is a law enforcement ranger in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. She is a strong character- a good investigator, a mother, who fights for her family and her friends. I give this book 4 stars out of 5.

Break of Day is the third and final book in the Annie Pederson series. This is one that I would definitely not recommend reading as a standalone, as I don't feel like you'd be able to get the full enjoyment without reading in order. There is a lot of backstories that I think it crucial to events and relationships in this one. Even having read the previous books, it took me a little bit to remind myself who was who and reacquaint myself with what had happened already. (It has been a bit since the previous books, and I have memory issues.)

Colleen Coble is one of my absolute favorites, and more often than not when I sit down with one of her books, I can pretty much kiss productivity goodbye because I'm not able to put it down... but I have to admit I struggled with this one a little bit. There were a few reasons for this, and for the most part it had nothing to do with the story itself. In fact, it was a really great story and just as well-written as anything else I've read from Coble in the past. That said, it did seem like the premise behind the story feels a bit darker than I'm used to from her. Combine this with having just come from reading much more lighthearted reads and my mental state not being in the greatest place when I started reading... it was a lot. I actually had to step away for a bit and read something lighter before coming back to finish. Again, this is definitely more me than the book.

Despite all that, I did really enjoy the book. It was nonstop action and suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat, and of course the bits of romance mixed in too. More than anything, I really enjoyed the message of faith and forgiveness, and watching how Sarah and Annie's relationship plays out in the end.

If you enjoy Christian suspense, this series is definitely one worth checking out.

Break of Day by Colleen Coble is the third book in the Annie Pederson trilogy. What a wild ride with an epic conclusion that took me until halfway through this book to finally start unraveling the ongoing mystery.

The beginning of this particular book started a little slow, but once the clues were falling into place the story ramped up and ended with a thrilling finale. Definitely my favorite book of the trilogy.

First and foremost, my thanks to NetGalley, Thomas Nelson Publishing, and the author for an advanced copy of Break of Day.

This is fast reading novel for fans of mysteries. The protagonists Annie and Jon are very engaging. The other cast of characters are too numerous and keeping all of them straight is confusing. A cast of characters page would be beneficial to readers in navigating through so very many people and how they are related to one another.

I attempted to read this installment but quickly realized it is absolutely necessary to read this series sequentially. There is a lot of background and events that the reader needs to be privy to in order to try to follow the storyline. It becomes convoluted and confusing as former events and characters in book one and two are referenced. Therefore, highly recommended to start with the first book in the series!

Anita Rated Break of Day a 4 out of 5 STARS
The Upper Peninsula region of Michigan on Lake Superior is an area I know nothing at all about and the region figures prominently in this series. That is one of the best features of these books. The area comes alive with all its' beauty and danger. Annie is on the brink of having it all: adorable if prickly child, hot guy and the return of her sister who was kidnapped years ago. As a park ranger and owner of a campground and marina, in high season (July) Annie is crazy busy with missing campers, break-ins and murder.

In trying to come to terms with her estranged sister, Sarah, Annie may have unwitting sent her into danger when she turns up missing. With a rash of missing campers, Annie has long suspected that there is something more than just lost hikers who have disappeared. Now Sarah is missing too and her investigation has placed Annie in danger.

First off, you must read the other books in this series in order to understand what is happening in this book. This is a story arc that spans the trilogy and jumping in on this book is not advised. With the history you have a chance of understanding what is taking place and the characters involved. The depiction of strong, Christian characters is a bonus to this book. It shows that everyone has family problems and we all just work it out with God's help. The mystery was vague and reason for the threat to Annie and her family was unclear. But the last 20% of the book is some of the best action-suspense I've ever read. 3 1/2-Stars
