"Call Me Maybe" is the pop song recorded by Canadian singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen which has attained commercial success worldwide, reaching number one in Australia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Hungary, Ireland, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Poland, Slovakia, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. To date the recoding has worldwide sales of over 10 million copies.

"Call Me Maybe" has reached well beyond the target market of Billboard's top 100 listeners and has been performed by several world famous performers from Kelly Clarkson to the Cookie Monster!

The latest group of performers have produced a video that has become a world-wide sensation that has been viewed 780,000 times since it become available on YouTube just 1 month ago!! Who are those appearing in this latest version of "Call Me Maybe"? They are our own Londoners, the residents of Waverly Mansion, a retirement home located on Grand Ave.

Sarah Urquhart, Waverley's recreation co-ordinator came up with the idea as a fun way to get the seniors more familiar with technology but she certainly didn't expect the video to become an international success. Urquhart told the London Free Press: "The response has been just so positive. We've had people calling from all over the world just to say 'I saw your video, it brought a smile to my face. Great job.'"

Urquhart explained that the project had some challenges starting with the many questions from the residents from: 'who is Carley Rae Jepsen?' to 'What television station is YouTube on?'

Maybe the residents didn’t know much about YouTube when the project started but you can bet they all know about it now! While only 20 of the 100 residents took part in the "Call Me Maybe" video, Urquhart reports that she has 60 ready to take part in the next project. The new project is rumoured to be a dance video of South Korean pop star Psy's smash hit Gangnam Style.
