Thanks to the wonderful support of the Christian Community, 2016 was a wonderful year for Christian Life in London. The number of readers increases every month and we are now reaching subscribers in 39 countries around the Globe. Of course many of these international subscribers are Londoners working or studying abroad. We know of several that look forward to Christian Life in London as a way to keep in touch with their community back home.

In 2017, you will see changes to Christian Life in London, all of which we are designed to enhance this Good News conduit.

The Christian Life in London Business, Church and Ministry Directory.

In 2017, we want Christian Life in London to be more than your source from inspiring interviews, informative articles, and movie and book reviews. We intend to become your One-stop Business, Church and Ministry Directory. This new directory will feature a “search any key word” function, detailed mapping/ directions, direct contact and many more details to help you sift through hundreds of listings to find the right one for you. We hope you will use this resource and please support those businesses appearing in this directory as they make Christian Life in London possible through their financial contributions.

February Edition Launch! Church and Ministry Services Locator.

We have embarked on a special project in conjunction with the Christian Churches Network of London, to provide Londoners with an interactive information resource of community services available. In the first phase, we are contacting all churches in the city to create a database of what services are available where and when. This user friendly section in Christian Life in London will allow anyone to find out when and where there are After School Programs, Senior Socials, Assistance for Newcomers, Grief Share, Pastoral counseling and more than 80 other services available. We look forward to your feedback following the launch next month.

February Edition Launch! : Happenings – The most comprehensive Christian Events Guide.

There is simply not a place for you to go to for a listing of events city wide of specific interest to Christians. That is about to change as the Christian Life in London Events Guide is to be rebranded and re-launched in February. The new, comprehensive Guide called “Happenings” will feature an interactive calendar and easy to use search function to find Christian events going on in London. We are inviting all churches and ministries to get involved to make this a great resource. Stay tuned!

This Edition Launch! New Monthly Feature: Off the Cuff.

Does that title sound familiar? It probably does, as it is the trademark column of Bruce Huff for the London Free Press, Toronto Sun and Toronto Star.

He’s been at it for some 55 years and sports has been his life and newspapers afforded him the best seat in the house. Stanley Cup, Olympics, World Series, Grey Cup, Super Bowl, Indianapolis 500, Queen’s Plate, Mann Cup lacrosse, Ali-Chuvalo, world championships in practically every sport — he’s seen it all. From the time he was a teen-age writer for his hometown weeklies in Dresden, to his first job in Tillsonburg through stops in Chatham, the London Free Press (twice), Sport London, Toronto Sun and Toronto Star, he’s been committed to his craft.

He’s been quick to shun accolades although awards and citations are plenty. Being a champion to the little guy has been a longtime trait. Away from the keyboard he has found little spare time in retirement as the founding chairman of the London Sports Hall of Fame committee, the first chairman of the London Oldtimers Sports Association, a charter member of the London Sports Council, coordinator of the Grandstand Display project at Labatt Park, director of the Intercounty Baseball League hall of fame committee and the person responsible for bringing the hall to London as a permanent site.

We are thrilled to report that Bruce has accepted our invitation to write a monthly “Off The Cuff” specifically for Christian Life in London starting this month. We are sure you will enjoy what Bruce writes each month.

This Edition Launch! New Monthly Feature: The Good Samaritans of London.

We all know dozens of people that give of their time and of themselves to help others, with no expectations of compensation, rewards or even thanks. According to the last Stats Canada Long Form Census, the hours contributed by volunteers in 2013 stood at 1.96 billion hours, equivalent to about 1 million full-time, year-round jobs!

We are very, very blessed to have so many generous people right here helping make London such a great place to live. As a new feature in Christian Life in London, we want to tell you about some of these wonderful people who know nothing else than to be kind. This month, we would like you to meet Grandma Jean Ireland.

Thanks for continuing to be a part of Christian Life in London and please contact with any suggestions of comments.
