SEND International of Canada is a multi-denominational evangelical mission agency with the Home Office located in Komoka. As a part of SEND International, SEND Canada exists to serve Canadians by encouraging and facilitating their participation in global missions toward the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-19).

SEND International's mission is to mobilize God’s people and engage the unreached in order to establish reproducing churches. SEND urgently calls on God’s people to respond to Him in sacrificial obedience toward the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

SEND International is a global bridge to unreached people, serving churches and individuals from more than a dozen countries as they engage in the Great Commission. Approximately 600 SEND personnel work in over 20 countries, cooperating with other mission agencies and (where possible) local evangelical churches. The North American Campus of SEND International is located in Farmington, Michigan.

In future editions of Christian Life in London Online, we will share lots of information and stories about God's work being done by SEND.

In this edition we are presenting an August letter recieved by SEND from the President of Ukraine Baptist Union.

May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob set you on high! May He send you help from the sanctuary and support you from Zion! (Psalm 20:1-2)

Dear brothers and sisters!

Peace to you and your families through the Lord Jesus Christ, and warm greetings from Ukrainian Baptist churches!

Our country is in a very difficult period in its modern history. We have never had this happen before, and just a year ago, we could not even conceive of today’s horrible reality. Christians in Ukraine have been called to serve in new, different conditions, and we must respond to the great challenges of our times.

Our current generation of Ukrainian Christians has entered a period of important, committed service to our society—a time when there are hundreds of refugees and other war victims in the country, and the number is constantly increasing. In eastern Ukraine, thousands are wounded. Today, there are more than 100,000 refugees. Bridges and supply lines have been destroyed, roads and streets are blocked with check points, ongoing explosions from tank fire and other munitions are heard every night. Many apartments and cars have been destroyed, and tanks are plowing through the city streets. That is how life looks like today in the eastern Ukraine.

In these difficult circumstances, we are called to increase our ministry for the sake of victory over evil, and to work in every possible way to help stop the war. In recent months, more than 5,500 Baptist Christian refugees have received help and refuge in the church buildings and homes of believers across the country. Christians participated in the humanitarian mission, providing necessary assistance to those who fled their homes and were forced to seek refuge in other regions of the country.

Christian camp facilities are now homes for orphans and families with many children from the East. Volunteers from clinics and hospitals are providing wounded people from the conflict zones with comprehensive health care.

Specific Ministries for Prayer

Today, the Ukrainian UECB churches are actively ministering in the following ways:

- Mobilizing every local church to help displaced people in their area.

- Organizing collection of aid for the wounded and injured in the conflict area

- Providing comprehensive assistance to our brothers and sisters, and fellow countrymen in the liberated territories.

- Helping families who lost their loved ones in the conflict and praying with, and for them.

- Demonstrating Christian love and spiritual support for the frustrated and weary.

- Asking for God's protection, wisdom and strength for the ministers of the churches who remain in the conflict zone and are continuing to minister to their people.

- Enhancing pastoral and counseling ministry, with evangelism as the emphasis—leading people to the Savior of our country, the Lord Jesus Christ.

We ask you, dear friends, please thoroughly support these initiatives of the Ukrainian UECB, and please continue to pray for Ukraine, asking Lord to restore peace and His protection for our country.
