Why are you here? Ephesians 2:10 shares that each of us is created for His purpose. So why are you here? Let's find out.

Why are you here? Ephesians 2:10 says, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." Each of us is here for His purpose. So why are you here, both as a person and together as a ministry?

Using seven questions, let's gain some clarity together that will get you heading in the right direction to discover why you are here specifically. With each question, take some time to answer fully. If you don't understand the question, simply ask it again and wait for the response that comes. Trust that God is leading you in this process. Write down your responses.

1. What are you remembered for?
Make a list of what others remember you for. As you answer you will discover that you are remembered for both a positive and negative influence on others. Be honest and again, trust that Christ is leading you.

2. Where are you remembered?
Here relationships are key. Write down the names of the people, organizations, communities or even countries that come to mind.

3. Why are you remembered there?
Take some time to explore why you are remembered in the relationships above. Recognize that you are remembered because you have made a specific and unique difference in the lives of those you have served. You may not be able to clearly articulate that difference, but know that you have made a specific and unique difference. This is key in understanding why you are here.

4. Who has made a difference for you?
Write down the list of people or organizations that have made a difference for you.

5. What is the experience of having a difference made in your life?

6. What need do you recognize in others?
In one word To make a difference in the life of another is to serve a need you recognize in them. Looking at all the people you interact with both personally and professionally, what need do you recognize in them? Answer this question in one word. Here we are looking for needs like stability, joy, hope, direction or understanding. Be sure to get it down to one word. You will know you have the right word as you will recognize this need everywhere you are and in everyone you know. Don't edit the words that come. Simply write down the words God brings and ask yourself "what is beneath that?" until you hit the word that describes the need you recognize in all those you serve in your life and work.

7. How do you answer this need?
You can ask a simple question of others. Start by filling in the following question. "Where do you need some (state the need you recognize)?" For example, if I recognize a need for direction everywhere I am, I could ask anyone that I am in conversation with "So where would you say that you need some direction?" This one "Where" question alone will align you to opportunities you never knew existed. Thank you for the opportunity to provide you some direction in why you are here by aligning you to the need you serve in others. God bless you in this journey.

Shayne Wyler, CEO & Founder, clarifies your direction by asking the right questions.
